PLC optical splitters
PLC optical splitters (planar lightwave circuit splitters) are passive devices that evenly split one optical input into multiple outputs for FTTH/GPON/EPON and other fiber distribution tasks. In this catalog you can buy PLC splitters with SC/APC connectors or without connectors in split ratios 1x2, 1x4, 1x8, 1x16 and 1x32, designed for 1260–1650 nm operation and supplied with LSZH jacketed fiber.

PLC optical splitters (Planar Lightwave Circuit splitters) are passive devices used to split one optical input into multiple outputs with a defined ratio. They are widely applied in FTTH / GPON / EPON and other fiber distribution networks where stable, repeatable splitting performance is required.
This section includes PLC splitters in the most common configurations used in access networks and distribution points:
- Termination options: SC/APC connectors or without connectors
- Split ratios: 1x2, 1x4, 1x8, 1x16, 1x32
- Operating wavelength range: 1260–1650 nm
- Cable jacket: LSZH
- Cable diameter options: 0.9 mm, 2.0 mm, 3.0 mm
- Standard cable length: 1.5 m (custom length available on request)
How to choose the right PLC splitter
1) Split ratio (1xN)
Select 1x2 / 1x4 / 1x8 / 1x16 / 1x32 based on how many outputs you need in the distribution point. Higher split ratios provide more branches, but require careful optical budget planning.
2) With connectors vs without connectors
- Choose SC/APC models when your patching environment uses APC interfaces and you need a ready-to-install splitter.
- Choose without connector models when you plan field termination or need a different connector type for the project.
3) Cable diameter and length
- 0.9 mm is convenient for compact installations and inside closures.
- 2.0–3.0 mm provides more mechanical protection for routing.
The standard length is 1.5 m, and custom length can be supplied to match cabinet, ODF or closure layout.
Custom configurations
If you need a different termination or housing format, PLC splitters can be supplied with connector options such as SC/UPC, LC/APC, LC/UPC, FC/APC, FC/UPC, and in various case types including steel tube, ABS box, LGX plastic box, 1U metal rack, or 1/2U LGX metal case (subject to request and configuration).
Use the filters to select the split ratio and termination type, then compare items by cable parameters and project requirements.
What is a PLC splitter used for?
A PLC splitter is used to divide one optical signal into multiple outputs for subscriber distribution in FTTH/PON networks and other fiber branching applications.
What does 1260–1650 nm mean?
It is the operating wavelength range of the splitter, covering typical access network wavelengths within that band.
How do I choose 1x8 vs 1x16 vs 1x32?
Choose by the number of required output branches and the optical power budget. Higher ratios increase splitting loss and require a stronger budget margin.
SC/APC or without connectors — which is better?
SC/APC is best when you need a ready-to-install solution with APC interfaces. Without connectors is better for custom termination or when you need other connector types.
Do you offer custom cable length and connector types?
Yes. Standard cable length is 1.5 m, and custom length is available. Connector types such as SC/UPC, LC and FC with UPC/APC polish can be supplied on request.
